With a capacity of up to 300 lbs, the Healthline Shower Wheelchair is suitable even for overweight persons with disabilities. Being 27.5” wide, this wheelchair will provide extra comfort to bigger individuals, thanks to its 17.75” internal width and to the 18.5” clearance, yet we recommend that you measure your doorways prior to purchasing it, to see if it fits inside your home. What we think makes the Healthline Shower Wheelchair a great buy, is the no-rust space age PVC, so easy to clean and disinfect. All bolts and screws are stainless steel, so they are corrosion-proof and very durable. The swing away arm on left side is one of the most useful features, as well as the independent action parking brakes. The rear wheels are all plastic, with rubber tread, providing a good grip on wet and slippery surfaces, while the front wheels are stainless steel, also covered with rubber tread, for increased durability. As optional elements, you can have a seat belt and a sliding footrest. We appreciate that the Healthline Shower Wheelchair fits over most commodes. Being made of the same high quality PVC Healthline use for all their similar products, we see this shower wheelchair as good value for money, at prices that go a bit over $400.

The MedLine commode shower wheelchair with powder coating steel frame offers a very comfortable seat for elders or for persons suffering from disabilities. Although the chair is made of heavy duty steel, it weighs only 23 lbs, while being able to support a maximum weight of 250 lbs. The width between the arms is 17.5”, while the overall width is 22”. This makes it fit most of the standard doorways without problems. The floor top seat height is fixed at 19”, while the overall height is 33”. I appreciate that the overall size of this commode wheelchair makes storage easy, provided that you have some special places where to hide it when not in use. In the worst case scenario, you can put it in a corner of your room, as it won’t take too much space. The plastic commode seat has a smooth and comfortable texture. While armrests are fixed, the footrest is foldable, for more flexibility in use. The rear locking castors help increasing the safety, as well as the solid, grip-sure tires. At a price of $100 plus shipping, this commode shower wheelchair with powder coating steel frame from MedLine is very convenient, as it can be a real help for impaired persons.

If more people were using a Safe-er- Grip bath & shower handle, 17-Inches, a lot of bathroom incidents could be prevented. Toddlers, elders, or even middle-aged persons in perfect health may slip when entering the wet and slippery bath tub or when they get out of the shower. This grip bath and shower handle costs as little as $18-$19 and it is extremely easy to install by pressing the tab levers which activate the suction cups. When not in use, the handle can be removed by simply flipping the tabs. You might have seen this product advertised on an as seen on tv commercial. You can get this shower handle through the as seen on tv store but also places like Bed Bath and Beyond carry the product. The Safe-er- Grip bath & shower handle, 17-Inches, is designed to help you preserving your balance, so you shouldn’t put all your weight on it. However, being less expensive than other similar products, in case some balance aid is all you need, you don’t have to spend more, as this will fit you well. The handle works best when attached on a smooth and clean surface. When we tried to attach it on the wall, we had to avoid the grout lines, but otherwise it attached firmly and offered a good support. Because of its relatively small size, the Safe-er- Grip bath & shower handle is suitable for taking it with you when traveling, as many hotels don’t offer such facilities for their guests.

The MedMobile bathtub transfer bench allows an easy transfer from your wheelchair to the bath seat, thanks to its rounded end, which makes this transfer more comfortable. For elder persons or for those who suffer from leg disabilities but do care for their privacy, this transfer bench can be a great aid in making them relatively independent, at least in a few private areas of their life. It will also ease the caregiver’s task, as you have to be quite strong in order to be able to transfer a 200 pounds person from the wheelchair to the bath without additional help. The MedMobile bathtub transfer bench has a highly flexible 24” x 15” seat that can be adjusted with 1” increments from a height of 16 1/2” to a maximum of 20 1/2”. One of the features that I like is the possibility to assemble the seat back for either right or left had applications, whatever suits you best. I’m left handed, therefore I appreciate very much when manufacturers care about this tiny buy important detail. The aluminum frame of the MedMobile shower chair is sturdy enough to support up to 250 lbs weight. The rubber feet offer an excellent grip on the bath tub floor, for increased stability when wet.

The Duro-Med shower tub stool is so small that it fits even narrow bath tubs or small shower stalls, yet being sturdy enough to support up to 250 lbs of weight. Its legs are corrosion-resistant, as they are made of 1” anodized aluminum tubing, strong and rust-free. For increased safety and stability in the shower, the legs are provided with slip-resistant rubber tips. The height of the Duro-Med Shower Tub Stool can be adjusted between 15” and 20”, thanks to an easy snap adjustment system, much better than other systems that require tools and strength to make this adjustment. The shower chair is delivered unassembled, but all we needed to assemble it was a screwdriver. The whole operation took about 10 minutes, so we estimate it’s fast and easy. We found the large, molded polystyrene seat to be quite comfortable and not too slippery. If you’re looking for a cheap and strong shower stool for your tiny tub, we recommend you the Duro-Med shower tub stool, available in medical supplies shops or at online retailers for an average price of $40. However, in case you have problems with your back, a shower chair with backrest would be better, as on this one you may feel a bit unsecure.

The Moen DN7060 adjustable shower chair has a contoured backrest for better comfort, and a built-in drainage system, to minimize the discomfort of water that gathers and may cause the user to slide. I like the versatility of this chair, which has a lot of places for attaching accessories such as armrests, soap and sponge baskets or a handheld shower holder. One thing you should know when buying the Moen shower chair is that accessories are sold separately, so in case you think you could use them, don’t forget to add them to your order. They are pretty inexpensive and extremely helpful, so I’d say that you get them. The glacier color and the elegant shape makes this chair fit even the most exquisite bathroom styles. The seat adjustability range of 17” – 21” should be enough for satisfying most persons. This shower chair is ADA compliant, which means that it complies with the American with Disabilities Act for ensuring that its design is accessible to persons with disabilities. In the price range of less than $100, the Moen DN7060 adjustable shower chair is a high quality bathroom accessory and a sturdy, reliable and comfortable support for people who need help in their personal hygiene activities.

At 400 lb weight capacity, the Carex Universal bath bench with back makes a good choice for persons weigh too much to use other batch benches of shower chairs models. Another feature we thought to be a progress compared top other models is the 18” – 23” exact level height adjustment facility, much better than the incremental ones. No tools are required to adjust the height, all you have to do is turn the rubber feet and you’re done. The rubber feet grip very well to the bath tub floor and the two handhelds on the sides of the seat make it easy to handle. Besides, they can also serve as small storage spaces for your sponge or for the shower head when you are lathering up. Priced around $60, the Carex Universal bath bench with back is an affordable way of getting more secure in your shower, be it you’re recovering after an injury or simply that you’re old and can’t bend that easily. If we only think at the quick, tool-free assembly this Carex shower chair provides, we see that it’s also very convenient when traveling, as you won’t need to take the tool box with you as well.

Being forced to spend your life in a wheel chair is frustrating. One of the worst things is that you lose the privacy you used to have when using your bathroom, either for taking a shower of for going to the toilet. The Invacare Corp Mobile Shower Chair – Model 6358 can help you with the bathroom issues, thus giving you back your valued privacy. This mobile shower chair weighs 11 lbs and it can support a weight of maximum 250 lbs. The arm to arm width is 18”, the seat to arm height is 8” and the seat to floor height is 21”. The chair includes a plastic toilet seat and a pail. Remove the pail and you’ll be able to fit your chair over most standard toilets in public or private places. This is very convenient as you’ll be able to use the toilet without having to ask your caregiver for help. The 1” aluminum frame is corrosion-protected and the backrest is made of waterproof nylon fabric, so you can use the Invacare Corp Mobile Shower Chair – Model 6358 in your shower without worries. Moreover, the backrest is detachable, for granting access to the back of the individual, if needed. The Mobile Shower Chair – Model 6358 is another useful product we expected from Invacare.

CLICK HERE TO BUY MEDLINE SHOWER CHAIR

This Shower Chair by MedLine is a good choice for patients who need help in the bath tub, and who can’t support their back without the additional backrest support. An example of use is after leg or hip surgery, when you still need a shower but you can’t stand. Having a very sturdy construction, with wide angled legs and suction cups at all feet, the Shower Chair by MedLine is able to provide you all the comfort for a great, safe shower, even if you can’t use your feet properly. Since this chair is meant to get wet, it features an extremely durable and lightweight anodized aluminum frame, which is rust-resistant and strong. The seat is textured for preventing you from slipping off it. Its height is adjustable from a minimum of 14 1/2” to maximum 19 1/2”, in fractions of one inch each. Another seat feature I’ve appreciated is its generous size. At 20” width by 12” depth, even bigger persons can feel comfortable and shower without fearing that they may fall down and get even more injured than they currently are. At its maximum height, the Shower Chair by MedLine can be used as a regular chair even after your recovery period ends and you’re able to stand again while taking a shower.

The Carex round shower stool is suitable for small bath tubs, thanks to its diameter of only 13”. If you only need a little help with your shower, this stool is an excellent choice. It is provided with rubber tips that grip very well to the bath tub floor, therefore preventing you from sliding. Its adjustable aluminum legs allow you to set the shower stool at the most suitable height for your case. Although the Carex round shower stool has quite a sturdy construction, is suitable for persons weighing up to 250 lbs. As I see it, that’s more than enough, as it’s less probable that if you’re that heavily overweight you’ll manage to accommodate yourself on the 13” diameter seat. This stool is white, so if you have sight troubles, be careful when trying to sit, as you may get it wrong and harm yourself seriously. The Carex round shower stool is available for a price which falls in the $35 – $42 range, not very expensive if we think at the independence it offers you in your bathroom. For increased safety in use, you could additionally buy some suction cup bath rails, to help you when you sit or stand up.

We have included some reviews from Amazon to help you.

I put the shower chair together and have been using it for a month now after foot surgery. I notice that rust has started around the middle screw holding all the legs together. I thought this was strange since it is a shower chair and will on occasion get wet. It also said it was adjustable. You must have to be REALLY strong to get those pegs to move because they have not budged. The height is good for what I need now, but I thought I could continue using it as a stool later on. Guess that is not to be. Don’t get me wrong, I do like it. I mean it is the only round one I have found and is easy to move around on it. Just wish it was more user friendly on the buttons and did not have part of the assembly rusting. I don’t think it is the big screw it self that I rusting, but the ring that goes around it maybe.

This is a well-made shower chair that will make life easier for me. Light to move and even has 4 indentations underneath on all sides that act as handles making it easier to grab and move. Many uses including drying off after shower…gives you a place to sit. Great price now!
